Well, good. That’s out of the way.
No, but in all seriousness, I am finally back. The last few weeks have been a whirlwind of bars, restaurants, review-writing, and exhaustion. But it’s almost over. Five venues left to see. Nine reviews left to write. And then it will all be done.
The emptiness that will settle in might kill me.
That’s a lie. Despite the sheer amazingness that is this job, part of me is looking forward to going out to bars because I want to, not because I have to. Don’t get me wrong, it’s been incredible! I have seen some great places, eaten some fantastic food, and drank some delicious drinks. But it has also been completely exhausting. Those shitty weather nights when you just want to throw on sweats and watch TV? I can’t do that. I have to go to some bar.
But the good most definitely outweighs the bad. I’ve had some unbelievable experiences. And over the next few weeks, I’m going to share those with you. Just a few more days, and the “Best Of” lists will start showing up. It’s going to be awesome.
But for now, LET’S PLAY A GAME!
- Look at the pictures (I’ve edited them so they’re just small clips…not so easy now, eh?)
- Match the pics to the correct bar/restaurant, from the handy dandy list below. (Pics are numbered for your convenience.)
- Post your answers in the comments. Winner gets a prize! (And by prize I mean I’ll tell everyone you were the winner and write at least 1 sentence in my next post about how cool you are).
- Big Star
- The California Clipper
- The Cubby Bear
- Public House
- Paddy Long’s
- The Map Room
- Gibson’s Bar & Steakhouse
Woooo hope you guys had fun with that. We’ll see who the winner is quite soon…
Until next time, here’s a cool video about fake olives (thanks to Ali for this):
