Um, yeah. I’m pretty freaking awesome right now.
Sorry to toot my own horn, but I may have concocted the best dessert EVER this week. Yeah. BEST. EVER.
(Ok, I’m totally exaggerating. I’ve eaten better desserts. In fact, I may have made better desserts. But sometimes you just do something so well that you can’t help being super excited about it.)
Chocolate chip graham cracker crust.
Whipped cream. (Homemade, duh.)
Basically, I was given a challenge by one of my coworkers. I’m not sure he’s aware that he challenged me, but he’s really into hosting workplace food contests. Like, he’ll pick a theme (salsa! or barbecue sauce! or something) and a bunch of people will make something and we’ll all have to vote on whose “salsa” or whatever is best.
He has won every time.
This makes me angry.
To be fair, I haven’t actually participated in any of these yet. During the salsa party I was getting over the flu, and I missed the barbecue sauce party because I was in Europe or something WAY BETTER than barbecue sauce.
But then he walked over to my desk one day and said “Hey, we should do a pie-making contest.”
I have never wanted to win a contest more than this one. I don’t really know why. Probably because I have a ridiculous amount of confidence in my pie-making skills, and if I lose I will just DIE.
Melodrama is exciting, no?
The point is, I make a damn good pie. I know it, and many of my friends know it. And I outdid myself with this one. Now I have a SECRET WEAPON.
I am too excited about this.
Also I plan to spend this weekend practicing.
I might have a problem.
(I might have also drank a bottle of wine just now. WOOOO!)
Basically the point of this post is to tell you that I can make delicious pie. (If you want some, tell me. I will make you one. For real.) And also that I am excited to kick my coworker’s ass with my delicious pie. I’ll be sure to keep you all informed when these exciting events roll around…
