Well folks, here it is. My 12 Beers of Christmas extravaganza! I’ll be posting one every day from now until Christmas. It’s the most wonderful beer-drinking time of the year!
And so, without further adieu…
#12 – Winterhook by Red Hook Brewing
While this isn’t anything spectacular, I like this beer because it’s consistent. Breweries that do an “annual” seasonal tend to let it have its yearly flavor, but from a bigger brewery like Red Hook you can generally expect it to meet your expectations.
And it certainly does.
It’s dark, it’s malty, it’s comforting, and it is 100% satisfying on a cold winter’s day. (Or, in my case, a rainy, temperate Seattle day.) And despite the slight cocoa and toffee flavors, it is remarkably drinkable. One might say dangerously so, but that person is a sissy.
And of course, best of all, it’s dressed like an ugly Christmas sweater!
And so, dear friends, Happy December 13th to you. Enjoy your sweater beer.
